The useful answer

Decide what you want to collect, set aside a pack-opening budget after restocking needs, and record the pack family and version when comparing results. A rare pull is not evidence of a reliable income strategy.

Give each purchase a purpose

A pack bought for resale and a pack bought to open serve different goals. Keep those decisions separate in your notes. Otherwise a profitable shop day can appear worse because you spent the surplus on your collection, or a lucky pull can hide a weak retail routine.

Choose a manageable collection target. It could be a favorite card, a set you enjoy, or cards you want to learn to play. This site does not offer a complete card database, and it does not claim you need to complete every set to enjoy the game.

What to record when comparing packs

  • The exact pack family and game build.
  • How many packs you opened, including ordinary outcomes.
  • The cost of the packs and the distinction between displayed values and actual sales.
  • Whether mods were active.
  • The question you were testing before seeing the results.

A screenshot of a valuable card says what happened once. It does not give the probability of repeating it, the full cost of getting there or what the rest of the collection is worth.

Be careful with Ghost-card percentages

Community questions show sustained interest in Ghost-card odds and pack choices. However, the research for this site did not establish a current, primary-source probability table. We therefore do not publish a drop-rate percentage or a claim about the most profitable pack.

Before using any odds table, check whether its denominator is a card, a pack or an entire session, and whether the rule applies to your build and pack family. A table without those details is not enough to guide a large in-game spending decision.

Use a stopping point you chose beforehand

Decide on a fixed number of packs or a budget before opening. Stop and review when you reach it, regardless of whether the session had an exciting pull. This is a planning suggestion rather than a game mechanic.

For the business side, return to the pricing guide. For the new playable card game, use the first-duel checklist. Keeping those goals separate makes it easier to tell whether your next purchase serves the shop, the collection or the deck.
