The useful answer

Buy the full game on Steam, or on consoles — Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch and Switch 2 joined at 1.0. It is a paid, one-time purchase with no microtransactions. A separate free Prologue on Steam covers the core gameplay with limited progression, so you can try before paying.

The official places to get it

The full game sells on Steam for Windows. With version 1.0 in September 2026 it also reached consoles: the launch announcement covered Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and Xbox's own news post describes availability through Xbox Game Preview with Game Pass on Xbox and PC. Regional store pages are the source of truth for what ships in each market.

Every other “TCG Card Shop Simulator download” page on the internet is a reseller, a key site, or something worse — the stores above are the only places your money reaches the developer.

Is it free?

The full game is paid: a one-time purchase with no microtransactions, per its PCGamingWiki taxonomy. Pricing observations from our 29 September 2026 check: the Xbox store listed US$19.99 (shown at US$15.99 in a limited offer), and Steam was running a 15% introductory discount on top of its regional base price. The game has also had deeper seasonal sales in 2026 — a 40% summer sale among them — so if you are patient, discounts recur. Prices move; read the store page, not this paragraph.

Try the free Prologue first

There is a legitimate free version: TCG Card Shop Simulator: Prologue, free to play on Steam since 6 August 2024. Its store text says it “includes main gameplay of the full version, but with limited progression” — the same loop of stocking shelves, setting prices and cracking packs, with the long game trimmed. Its all-time rating stood at Very Positive (94% of 2,498 reviews) at our check.

That makes it a real answer to “can I try this free?”: same developer, same core loop, no piracy required. Progress does not carry over to the full game — it is a tasting portion, not a head start.

System requirements

We do not reproduce the spec table here because it changes with patches and platform. Current requirements live on the Steam store page, and PCGamingWiki keeps a maintained technical article — engine (Unity), save locations, settings. One planning note: the Windows Steam build is the platform the modding ecosystem targets, so if mods are part of your plan, that is the copy to buy.

Why “free download” sites are a bad deal

Cracked copies promise the game for nothing and cost you plenty: no updates (this game is actively patched — see the version notes), no achievements, no support, a save folder you cannot safely mod, and the standard malware lottery of untrusted executables. We do not link such sites, and nothing on this site is written to help find them. Between the free Prologue and recurring sales, the legitimate routes to this game are cheap.
