The useful answer

Two Pokemon projects dominate: Yeta's Shop adds Pokemon TCG card sets (last updated 23 September 2026), while Real TCG Overhaul - Pokemon Shop reskins cards, packs and boxes with Pokemon textures. Both install through BepInEx like any content mod, and both are unofficial fan works.

Which Pokemon mod you are looking for

People searching for “the Pokemon mod” usually want one of two different things. Yeta's Shop adds playable Pokemon card sets to open, sell and collect. Real TCG Overhaul - Pokemon Shop instead replaces textures across cards, packs and boxes with Pokemon-themed ones. One changes what you open; the other changes how it looks.

Both are fan-made works with no connection to OPNeon Games, Nintendo, Game Freak or The Pokemon Company. Their availability depends entirely on their authors and on Nexus review status, so treat every detail here as a dated snapshot checked on 29 September 2026.

Yeta's Shop: the card-set mod

According to its Nexus description, Yeta's Shop adds cards from the mega evolution, Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield, XY, Black & White, HeartGold & SoulSilver, Platinum and Diamond & Pearl series — an unusually wide slice of the real Pokemon TCG. It was uploaded on 9 August 2026 and last updated on 23 September 2026, which puts it among the actively maintained large content mods in the 1.0 era. Its discussion board carried 423 posts at our check, another sign of an alive project.

We have not run this mod ourselves. Before installing, open its Nexus page and check the requirements line: large card projects typically depend on current framework mods such as TextureReplacer or Art Expander, and a mismatched framework is the most common cause of broken installs.

Real TCG Overhaul: the reskin

The older of the two, Real TCG Overhaul - Pokemon Shop, is described on Nexus as adding various Pokemon-themed textures for cards, packs, boxes and more. If your goal is the feel of running a Pokemon shop rather than new sets to open, this is the one to look at first.

We did not re-verify its last-update date at this check. The rule from our maintained shortlist applies: compare the mod's last-update date with your game version before downloading, and prefer a maintained fork if the original has stalled.

Installing either one

Both install exactly like any other content mod, through the procedure in our step-by-step install guide: BepInEx pack first, then the mod's files into BepInEx\plugins, one mod at a time. If you prefer to see it done, the video desk has a verified post-1.0 franchise-mod install walkthrough: Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh install guide.

One discipline worth copying from the most-watched guides: install in three phases — loader, then prerequisite frameworks, then the card pack — and press F1 between phases to confirm each layer loads. The creator of a launch-day video published on 15 September 2026 found his old Pokemon setup dead on 1.0 day and worked through exactly that sequence, after first rolling his Steam build back to the previous beta branch (Properties → Betas) so the mods would run until authors updated them. That rollback is a stopgap worth remembering when the next big patch lands, not a permanent home — you miss the update's fixes while you sit on the old branch.

Back up your save before the first install — the save-file guide shows the folder to copy. Content packs are typically the first thing a game update breaks; if cards render as black boxes afterwards, work through the post-update checklist and update the frameworks before the packs built on them.

The easier 2026 route: a mod manager

If dragging folders feels fragile, a community tool now wraps the whole job: the RTCGO Mod Manager, built by Nexus modder iiTzSamurai. The most-watched Pokemon install guide (108,361 views when checked on 29 September 2026) walks this route: run the manager, point it at your game folder, and it creates a staging folder beside its own executable; drop your downloaded mod archives there in zip form, reopen the manager, and it lists them under Downloaded mods with a one-click batch install — the video demonstrates a 23-mod Pokemon bundle going in at once, alongside the manager's own recommended-mods list.

Three honest cautions. It is an unsigned third-party executable — Windows SmartScreen will show a prompt that the video manually bypasses; treat that decision seriously and evaluate where you download the manager from, exactly as you would any mod file. Instructions like these shift fast, which is why both of that channel's tutorials open with “read the pinned comment”. And a manager still cannot escape the version-mismatch reality above — it installs mods; it does not make them compatible with a build their authors have not updated for.

Keep expectations Pokemon-shaped but honest

A Pokemon card mod changes what fills your shelves and binder. It does not import the Pokemon TCG's rules, and the official playable card game in 1.0 remains Tetramon, covered in our first-duel guide. Franchise packs also carry the usual fan-project caveats: they can be withdrawn, renamed or reworked at any time, and an update to the game can leave them broken for days.

If what you actually want is more official content rather than a different flavour, the 1.0 release notes cover the 1,452-card Ascension expansion that shipped with the playable TCG.
